About

For quilters. From the craft, not around it.

PatchMaven is a quilt design web application. It is built around a single idea: a calm digital design wall where quilters can try layouts, audition fabric, and see real quilt math — before they pick up a rotary cutter.

Why this exists

Existing quilt design software tends to fall into one of two camps. Either it treats quilters like CAD operators, with floating panels and inspector trees and a steep learning curve. Or it treats quilters like generic creatives, with a blank canvas and no awareness of how quilts are actually built.

Quilters deserve better. Quilting is a real craft tradition with its own vocabulary, its own math, and its own pace. A design tool should respect that.

PatchMaven is built around the Design Wall because that is where quilts actually take shape. Pieces, layouts, regions, fabrics, math — every part of the product traces back to how a quilter works at the wall.

Who PatchMaven is for

People who care about the process. People who want to try ideas without wasting fabric. People who have a stash and want to see how it reads before they cut.

You do not need to be a software expert. You do not need to translate your project into another tool's metaphors. PatchMaven uses plainspoken language — Design Wall, Piece, Project, Layout. The same words you already use.

What this will not become

PatchMaven is not a pattern marketplace. It is not a community feed. It is not an AI that designs your quilt for you. It is a design wall — a place to think, try, and commit, on your terms.

If a change to the product makes it more confusing, more technical, or less quilting-native, that is probably the wrong change.
