Six 60-degree diamonds meeting at the center, set into four corner backgrounds with Y-seams. English Paper Piecing is the traditional approach — baste each diamond around a paper template, whipstitch them together, then applique or set into the background.

- Step 1
Cut your pieces
Cut the pieces in the cut list. The sizes are for a 12 inch finished Six-Pointed Star block and already include a quarter inch seam allowance.
- Step 2
Sew the straight seams, leaving the set-in seams for last
Sew the seams that meet where a set-in seam will land, stopping a quarter inch from each corner so the next piece has room.
- Step 3
Assemble the block
Join the sewn units with set-in seams. Press the final seams open or to the side, whichever you prefer, then square the block to size.
